However, a number of barriers exists to bring solar electricity in an environmentally and economically sustainable way, Some of the crucial barriers like – Lack or very low level of awareness of the Solar Technology and its applications, Lack of hassle free & tailor-made End-User Financing and its significance among the financial institutions. Limited sustainable entrepreneurs to ensure post installation services and Lack of integrated approach and proper synergy of various stakeholders of the fraternity to develop the sector in a sustainable manner.

India currently has more than 260 million people who lack adequate access to grid electricity or receive less than four hours of electricity per day. A robust ecosystem for decentralized renewable energy solutions can rapidly accelerate the access time line. One of the key aspects of this ecosystems access to affordable and flexible finance for end users and small businesses to afford the interventions involving renewable energy.
