Good Governanace

Good Governance at the local levels means efficient and timely delivery of public services, simplicity and easy accessibility, transparency, sound financial management, active people’s participation, autonomy in decision making process and strict enforcement of right to information.

Under Good Governance project, BVT developed a Model village concept. In Model village concept BVT organizes

• Workshops, seminars, and training sessions to deliver the training modules to panchayat leaders and members. Training helps Grama Panchayat leaders and members acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively govern their respective communities. They can learn about local governance principles, administrative procedures, and legal frameworks that guide their roles and responsibilities. This knowledge enables them to make informed decisions, implement development projects, and manage resources efficiently.
• Formation of Village Development Committee (Includes Community Leaders, SHGs Leaders, ASHA, ANM, Important stakeholders, etc). The committee acts as a representative body for the community, working closely with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure effective planning, development, and sustainability of the model village.
• Provides trainings/Awareness programs for women, youth and community on organic farming, Livelihood/Skill Training for women, youth skill up gradation, Waste Management Training/Awareness, government schemes, health facilities, Rain water systems and solar energy, etc. 

Good Governance’s vision is to encourage community members and panchayat leaders to take ownership of the program and sustain its benefits in the long term.
