About Us

Bharathiya Vikas Trust founded by late Sri T. A. Pai a great visionary has completed more than two decades of its meaningful existence. Though the Trust was registered during 1978, has commenced the activities in May 1981, in a 5-acre plot belonging to him in Perampalli, Shivalli Village. But he did not live to see his vision getting fulfilled. He breathed his last on 29th May, 1981, one month after commencing the work. Bharathiya Vikas Trust has now completed 29 years of useful and committed service to the public in general and farming community in particular.
BVT during the last 29 years has successfully implemented various projects of Central, State and Local Govts., National & international Developmental agencies.
Manipal University has recognized BVT as a Branch Campus of the University.

Vision
The main mission of BVT is to bring about tangible change in rural life by focusing the development in the areas like agriculture, animal husbandry, access to basic energy, Education, Self-employment, research & development and in rural areas.

Providing self-employment opportunities for youth towards the utilization of vast human resources to bring about Socio - Eco change in rural areas was the main concern. Harnessing local resources, development of skills, motivation and training to improve the quality of life provided on a continuous basis to the rural community.

Our Presence / Areas of operation:
The activities of the Trust are carried out, through a resource centre established at “Ananth”, Manipal. Direct operations of the Trust are mainly in Udupi and adjoining districts. However for implementing certain projects related to solar energy, the Trust has extended its area of operation to other parts of Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, through its offices at Delhi and Lucknow.

Our Team:
Committed and experienced like-minded resource persons supported by a core administrative/operational team of devoted individuals working with the Trust to achieve the objectives of the Trust. Over the period of more than a decade, BVT team is striving to achieve its objectives under the guidance and leadership of Sri K. M. Udupa, a highly committed, knowledgeable & illustrative retired Banker and other Excellencies of the developmental fraternity.
